I’ve processed a few more pictures, including two from our last hike to the top of Brins Mesa a few evenings ago. The pine trees on top of Brins Mesa were scorched and dying due to past fire and drought (see picture below). The color photo that ends the series is looking east/northeast across Mormon Canyon as we headed down from the mesa at sunset. We encountered a small King Snake at the top of the mesa; it was about 12″ long and very colorful — orange, yellow and black (no picture unfortunately). King Snakes eat rattlesnakes and other venomous snakes among other things. The rest of this set are from earlier hikes that I’ve only now had time to process. -Matt
