Earlier in the week, we visited the V-Bar-Ranch/US Forest Service Heritage Site to view the petroglyphs. These petroglypths date from 1150-1450 CE and are part of a solar calendar that the Indians depended on for farming. When sunlight or shadows fell on particular petroglyphs on the wall, they knew when to plant, harvest, etc. This is a highly concentrated collection of petroglyphs that anthropologists call the verde style. Enjoy, Matt
